Wan He Lou - Signature Lobster Porridge

By renee - June 25, 2013

Launched this year,  Wan He Lou Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at the heart of Jalan Besar, on 65 Maude Road to be exact.

This Chinese restaurant serves an extensive menu of delicious foods which I think is a good place for celebration and gathering. Do come down and indulge in a range of delectable Chinese cuisine at Wan He Lou. One thing to note is that this Chinese restaurant do not charge any GST and SERVICE CHARGE.

It was really a hot day and so the boss recommends us their Fresh Vegetable Drink which has a sweet taste that totally refresh my tastebuds.

Crispy Seafood Delight and Otah with crepe
(Medium) - $17.90

It's crispy and it's definitely a great combination with the mayonnaise on top of the crepe.

Pan Fried Garoupa Fish with Pomelo Sauce
Small($19.90), Medium ($32.90)

The flesh is soft and tender together with the pomelo sauce, it brings out a fruity taste which I personally like it alot.

Crispy Lotus with Salted egg
Small ($10.90), Medium ($18.90)

Thinly sliced additive snacks include the Crispy Lotus Root with Salted egg. Once you start to consume it - you can't simply stop at one. Consume it immediately before it totally lose its crunch.

Stir Fried French Bean with Dried Shrimp

This crunchy French Bean is nice but a little salty for me, I would suggest to complement with the steamed rice.

 Signature Chicken

This 'Signature Chicken' is super succulent and the stuffing is great. De-boned chicken wings with stuffing meat and vegetables.

Korubuta Pork roll wrapped with Garlic Shoots

A newly launched dish that has not been updated in their menu yet. Worth trying it !

Soya Bean Curd w Crab Meat in Yellow Gravy

By visually looking at the smooth texture of the soya bean curd with its gentle wobble as it placed on the table, I can't wait to try the dish. The silkiness of the soya bean curd  melts in the mouth and slides down the throat. In addition, the yellow gravy has a pleasant savoury flavour that pleases any palate.

San Zan Sauce Prawn

Over at Wan He Lou, you can get to choose the cooking method for the prawns such as Mandrain Orange Thousand Island sauce, Butter cereal, Pan Fried Shrimps, Superior Soy Sauce, Drunken Style, Salt and Pepper. Not forgetting, San Zan Sauce that was being recommended for us. A sweet and slight plum flavour with a tinge of spicy taste.

Lobster Porridge
2 pax (approximately) from $29.90

The lobster meat itself was firm to bite and the natural goodness of the lobster makes the soup and porridge extremely tasty and nice.

I'm sure you have tried 'Teochew fish porridge' yay? Lobster porridge is similar to it where rice + soup was being served.
