NEW HAIRDO

By renee - September 14, 2012

Went to Orchard Plaza with Li Ping to change our current hairstyle and colour. To me, it was quite a 'ulu' place where you won't usually see people going to that place. A small salon that is located at Level 3 and only 1 professional is there and 1 assistant (doing simple washing of hair, rebonding). So you can imagine how busy is she especially with the deal she post on the website. As we stepped in to the shop, the phone has never stop ringing. PITY HER !

She mastered her skills from London and my friend and I are absolutely satisfied with her skills in dyeing and cutting our hair : D She was friendly and even wanted to treat us some 'Kueh'. The total cost of dyeing + treatment + washing + cutting costed us about $98. As our name is already pen down, no matter how long our hair is, the price will be stick at $98. HOW GOOD IS THAT [:

Because of some lightning problem, I can't really show the colour of our hair. HOW FRUSTRATING !Overall, I love the colour

  1. E Ling Hair Shop is a liar!!! I would never visit this shop again.

Here is my story, and was very disappointed with the service received:
Just visited the Salon using Groupon (bought $58) for wash+rebonding+Additional Shiseido Final Step Hair Treatment. However she refused to help me do rebonding unless I pay $60 more for the 4 step treatment? I try to negotiate with her because it's not stated in the Groupon at all.... However, she keep insist she won't help me to do it unless take the extra, else just refund with Groupon. Felt so fedup with her, actually I don't mind to pay $60 more for the 4 step treatment but this is like using Groupon to trick the customer to come..

Now I'll arrange the time to suit this Groupon deal, coz they really take too many customers already. I visited on weekdays - Tuesday, rush to Salon after work, and even no time for real dinner. Not to mention this appointment is only arranged after around 10=15 times of calling to the salon coz most of the time I called it just ring for a long time and go to the mailbox. Not professional at all....

Eventually the salon did help to do the digital rebonding, but the customer service sucks... Black face and didn't even want to say goodbye when I leaved... Who deserve this kind of service... I would say they should be removed from Groupon to prevent others get tricked!

  2. I went to E Ling Hair Shop on 15 May 2013. Having the same problem too. MUST top up S$60.00 for extra treatment if not that lady boss will ask you call Groupon for refund.

Already lodge a complaint to Groupon, they just email and said Customer have to right to refuse if the merchant is trying to upsell their service!

    Pls share to everyone.

  3. Me either, encountered the same issue as u gals mentioned.
In fact i don't mind top up $60 for the 4 steps rebonding treatment. I was not happy with the lady boss skilled at all.
The way of clipping my hair was so hard and so so so painful in pulling...terrible and lousy skillwork. After 3 days washing my hair, while blowing dried my hair was so frizzy which was terrific worst than before i gone for rebonding. What so call London trained...sucks!!! Compare to HDB i went much much better than her. My bad experience ever had. NO MORE E-Ling Hair Shop.

  4. I also encountered the same thing when I went there. I didn't even buy the Groupon with the additional treatment but when I got there, she said I need to pay for the treatment or else she won't do my hair. I don't even want that in the first place, it's a complete waste of time. Very bad customer service. She doesn't respect her customers a bit. Please don't waste your time going there.

  5. I went to e salon yest irregards to e bad review she had. Still willing to try cus its cheap! N mostly is on e attitude n not bad hairdo done. Tried to call 1st, to my surprise, e phone was picked up after 1 ring. N e lady boss was just so friendly n polite. Opposite of what u all hv said. Indeed, there is a top up for e 4 steps treatment. But i know my hair condition. I really need it... even after the top up, it is still cheap! As i asked around, the cheapest for me is $288. As i hv hair length till my waist. For e service, she indeed pulled hard. But its to get a firm curl for me, which i requested for. N does not really hurt tt much. Throughout e whole service, she is v concern of me. Kept asking if i m ok, i m thirsty, i m hungry, giving me all e pamper as a boring customer waiting for hrs for hair done, shld get. Even giving me e entertaiment of watching e show i wanna watch, to kill my bordeom. E perm in e end turn out super nice! Even after so many treatment, her treatments really works. My hair is not fizzy at all aft e perm.

I asked her, since her skill is so good, y is there so many bad review? She explaint that, for a service provider, u will hv to had full responsibility once u touches customer's hair. Its her job to make it nice n still no damage. So when customers bought vouchers online, she will only see them when theu came to her shop. She will then see if ur hair is suitable for just normal perm. Mostly is ur hair is dyed, 4 step treatment is a must. If not its bad for e hair. That is y even there's money to earn, she still will reject customer n ask customer to get a refund if they insist not to go for e extra treatment. She does not want to see customer's hair getting worst. So she hv e rights to reject, for customer's good. I truely agree with wat she say. Cus i tried e whole process... no regrets at all n will continue to patronise.

  6. I had the worst experience at this e-ling salon. The lady boss is pushy, rude, aggressive... totally obnoxious! Though I wasn't too happy that I need to buy another treatment top up though I bought the groupon with additional treatment option, I bought it cos she was so pushy. She yanked at my hair, and when I asked her if she could be more gentle she made sarcastic remarks and continue yanking. The worst is that she says the top up includes a trim, she refused to trim to even out my hair after the rebonding. Surely all professional salon will even out some odd ends sticking out after rebonding. I was pissed and insisted that she should even out my hair ends (I have a chin length bob) and she did that, with a black face and cut some 'holes' around the length of my bob! Totally unprofessional and spiteful - HORRIBLE!
All the bullshit talk about being responsible for customer's hair, she just wanted to earn more money. My colleagues commented that my hair ends are really frizzy, yes, it's that frizzy and obvious.
    WORST hair salon ever.

  7. I bought the voucher from deal.com.sg and encounter the same terrible customer experience ! The lady seems to tell everyone that their hair is damaged and needs to top up additional money for some collagen product and 4 step treatment, otherwise she won't do your hair. If she is really so professional she should have stated this clearly in the vouchers, especially when she has already received so many complaints. This is really a waste of time for both parties and I had specially took leave to accomodate to her time slot. Agree that the lady is rude and pushy. Will be contacting deal.com.sg for refund and also report to CASE. I really regret not checking out the salon's bad reviews before buying the voucher. This is no doubt the worse deal I have gotten from deal.com.sg !

  8. This is one of the worst deals ever. This lady boss was so so pushy and refused to do the perm if we don't agree to topping up $60 for the 4-step treatment. I mean, what is wrong with her??!! If she is trying to use the treatment to cover some of her losses, then the least she should do is to be upfront about it. I read the Deal.com conditions again and it says very clearly, "If hair is too damaged, additional top-up of $60 for 4-Step Intensive Hair Treatment + Creative Haircut is available". I don't know if her English is bad or what, but no matter how I read the condition, nowhere does it say that the top-up is compulsory. Wasted time and efforts making the trip down to her salon, only to be faced with such a bad service. Let's complain collectively so that Deal.com and Groupon can put her in the blacklist of merchants!
